AN unmarked submarine off Victoria's west coast has had Portland residents intrigued this week.
A Portland resident called saying he had seen the sub yesterday, after photographer Bob McPherson took a picture of it on Wednesday. "A hell of a lot of people are starting to come down and look at it," he said.
A Defence Department spokesman yesterday confirmed an Australian submarine was in the area but refused to say why.
