Claws out as mayor heats up big cat Saga
By Eamon Duff
May 22, 2005
The Sun-Herald

A mayor has warned the NSW Government a tragedy could occur if it continues to ignore warnings about a colony of big cats creeping closer to the urban fringe.

Hawkesbury City Council mayor Bart Bassett sent a stinging letter to NSW Primary Industries Minister Ian Macdonald last week outlining community anger over his reluctance to take their
fears seriously.

With the mysterious black creature having resurfaced recently, the letter also resurrects plans
to trap the predator using a caged female panther, on heat, as bait.

The letter reads: "The large number of rational and reliable members of our community (140+) who have seen this animal(s) are justifiably offended that the NSW Government will not give credence to their observations.

"In 1999 it was suggested (by experts) that an oestreogenous large female cat (leopard or
jaguar), in a cage, accompanied by a carer be brought into the area to attract any large cats
within the locality. An experienced marksman situated close by would be able to deal with any
attracted large cats. This offer is still available and your approval to proceed with such a
plan would be appreciated."

Some residents believe a big cat has, for decades, stalked communities including Richmond, Grose Vale, Kurrajong, the Hawkesbury and Lithgow. Witnesses are adamant the creature is a panther.

"This has become a major issue for local residents, particularly those with children," Mr
Bassett said.

"Sightings are flowing in more frequently. Whether the breeding population has grown or the
drought is forcing them outwards, we don't yet know. But as a council, we had to ask, do we
support all these countless credible eye witnesses? Or, do we follow the rule and ignore the
situation until a tragedy has arisen?"

The State Government's stance is that action only be taken when scientific evidence has
surfaced. Mayor Bassett said the final straw for council came when a "reliability test"
discredited two laboratories which the Government had recommended be used for testing of
potential evidence.

After years of negative results, residents submitted genuine panther faeces provided by Bullens'
Animal World at Warragamba. The panther had only ever been fed "beef and horse".

Yet both results stated the scats originated from a dog, one with a diet of "swamp wallaby", the
other "fox, grass and dog grooming hairs."

Do We Have A Problem!
Big Time...

"Deforestation in the Amazon rainforest last year was the second worst ever, figures released by the Brazilian government have shown. Satellite photos and other data showed that ranchers,
loggers and especially soy bean farmers felled more than 10,000 square miles."

All this for a Soy Bean??

couple of years ago and promptly forgot all about. I was in the garden at the back of our house
roughly two years ago - the clip date is August 3rd 2003 - and for whatever reason, I happened to look up towards the sky and noticed a dark stationary object, hovering very high up in the sky above."

UFO VIDEO - Sonora, California

Taken on the 14th May 2005.

"My brother and I were sitting outside, as usual, and witnessed six objects in the course of an
hour. At 9:14 PM, my brother noticed a bright light moving slowly to the Southwest, just above
and in front of us. The fourth object slowly brightened until it was six or seven times the size
of Jupiter, which was off to our right as we faced Northeast. This was the brightest object yet
seen over Sonora."

Melbourne UFO Video

Well I am a very lucky boy (an old boy)… I was able to view a video taken last Friday night (13th May 2005) of the alleged UFO fleet seen over Melbourne at about 10.30pm. I had a viewing with some other UFO researchers on the campus and the vision looked very interesting, well to me. The general opinion was, it looks like fire/balloons, so lets be careful… but apart from that the vision was very clear.

Kevin D. Randle - Two Or Three Faces

Kevin Randle see's Michael Salla http://www.exopolitics.org/ information and ideas as being black or white, when in fact what Salla is trying to do is look at the grey edge, without any judgment and see what pops up or wiggles out of the mist of fact & fiction. Consequently all the old ufologist mothers have come out with howl down Salla and his new idea...

Like this negative return:

"This presupposes that the testimonial evidence from the Disclosure Project and the documentary evidence in the MJ-12 documents can be trusted. I'm suggesting that neither source canbe trusted and theref ore any reliance on them as a basis toargue for a hard cover up is flawed in the beginning." http://www.virtuallystrange.net/ufo/updates/2005/apr/m22-007.shtml

And at the end this bit:

"In these three cases, and in many othersthat simply does not exist. You then suggest that proves them to behonest. To me it suggests they are telling tales and have found awilling listener." http://www.virtuallystrange.net/ufo/updates/2005/apr/m22-007.shtml

Well Kevin lets look at your case... Oh and let's see if your information rules hold true for you or have you got an excuse for your situ...

Now back in 1995 we get this Randle gem:

"Kevin D. Randle is a former Army helicopter pilot and Air Force intelligence officer, Captain in the U.S.A.F.R, who has been writing about the UFO phenomenon for more than twenty-five years." http://www.ufoevidence.org/researchers/detail78.htm

Take this Mar 2003 we have:

"My National Guard unit has been activated so that I am now full time in the Army. Although I enjoy the enchanges on UpDates, I do not have the time to read the messages and respond so I need to unsubscribe at this point. I'm hoping to resubscribe in a few weeks (And for Stan who once asked if I have ever been on active duty as an intelligence officer... the answer then, as it is now, Yes.)"

Then this Nov 2004.

Iowa Army National Guard? What??? Come on KR, I thought you were a Captain in the U.S.A.F.R!

Ok.. the point is this, what is the fact or fiction aka true position of KR? Mind you have a look at his photo, does this man look fit for combat? Nah! So yeh right Kevin, Iraq story - good one...?

Your another name ufologist will be looking up when your off this coil. I hope you crossed all your "t" and dotted all your 'i"!

Thank God for FOI.

UFOs spotted over Melbourne
By MATTHEW SCHULZ
15 may 2005

WHAT are orange, hover high in the sky over the eastern suburbs and form strange, intricate patterns?

If witnesses to the strange phenomenon seen on Friday night are to be believed, the answer could be alien spaceships. The mystery developed at 10.30pm when about a dozen of the orange lights were seen hovering over Ferntree Gully. Tim Webster, 23, of Upwey, admits he was looking forward to an alien abduction as he photographed the lights on his phone-camera.

"I was really hoping they were going to land. I was like, 'Take me! Take me!' Seriously, the galaxy is too big for us to be alone.

"They were too high for fireworks, higher than a jet and creating patterns that no aircraft could ever do."

Mr Webster called his friend Aaron Singe, 22, who was at Mountain Gate shopping centre.

"Tim just said, 'look outside, you're not going to believe it'," Mr Singe said. "I'm pretty hard to convince about this sort of thing, but this is too weird."

Another friend, Stuart Wilson, 24, managed to take video footage of the lights.

The shaky video shows a dozen pricks of light forming shapes such as diamonds, lines, characters and what looks like the Southern Cross.

The lights were visible for 10 minutes before flying in different directions and vanishing, Mr Wilson said.

"It's possible aliens are driving them, but until I see one I'm not going to be convinced," he said. "This is pretty close, but I didn't see any little green men."

But Mr Webster didn't need convincing.

"I was never into sci-fi but now I'm going to do my homework on UFOs," he said.

Local pizza shop manager Ned Bulic also took phone pictures and said: "They were definitely alien UFOs. Nothing else could have moved like that."

Police contacted Melbourne Airport after reports came in from Hallam to Boronia but there were no anomalies on the radar.

Bill Chalkers "Invisible College"

Click For Larger

This is from Bills Blog:

"Because I had an existing and reasonable public profile and strong and established connections with key researchers worldwide, our group, which called itself the Anomaly Physical Evidence Group (APEG), decided that I would be the public face of this biochemical variant of the UFO "invisible college."" - Bill Chalker

Yes well... I did read the post on your blog Bill, and I must say that I am a bit worried about this so called "invisible college" thing. In fact it could be seen as an easy way of not giving people information about your contacts? To the disclosure mob I would expect some howls of discontent... more cover up they should say. But I bet we don’t get a single call.

And Bill I thought you accused Phenomena Research Australia (PRA) for this type of deal… Oh how the tide has turned! So is it a little anti disclosure? What would you say?

But I guess PRA has its "invisible college" too... and it’s a big one I bet.

“What’s good for the goose is also good for the gander” - Is that right Bill?

Kansas Challenges Definition of Science

"Anti-evolutionists have made classrooms in Kansas a key battleground in America's culture war. Again. The New York Times reports they are proposing to change the definition of science in Kansas: 'instead of "seeking natural explanations for what we observe around us," the new standards would describe it as a "continuing investigation that uses observation, hypothesis testing, measurement, experimentation, logical argument and theory building to lead to more adequate explanations of natural phenomena."'"

From the article:

"In the first of three daylong hearings being referred to here as a direct descendant of the 1925 Scopes Monkey Trial in Tennessee, a parade of Ph.D.'s testified Thursday about the flaws they saw in mainstream science's explanation of the origins of life. It was one part biology lesson, one part political theater, and the biggest stage yet for the emerging movement known as intelligent design, which posits that life's complexity cannot be explained without a supernatural creator."

Karl Pflock Or Was That Kurt Peters

Ufologist Karl Pflock has ALS, or Lou Gehrig's Disease, now should we all feel sorry for Karl... well NO. In fact Karl is a dope and a bit of a hoax.

FIO". We will be able to check your files, when you shift off your mortal coil like the rest of us... but one thing Karl I know, a few researchers have their FIO applications form filled out to see how much of a BS artist your really were.

Oh and why all this anti Karl well tell us all Karl about all that cloak & dagger Twilight Zone rubbish that you cooked up in that fading nut about your alias Kurt Peters.

He has tried to even his keel, but in my book - "once a hoaxer always a hoaxer".

UFO sightings in China on the Rise
By PETER HARMSEN

Meng Zhaoguo, a rural worker from northeast China’s Wuchang city, says he was 29 years old when he broke his marital vows for the first and only time – with a female extraterrestrial of unusually robust build.

“She was three metres tall and had six fingers, but otherwise she looked completely like a human,” he says of his close encounter with an alien species. “I told my wife all about it afterwards. She wasn’t too angry.”

While few Chinese claim to have managed to get quite as intimate with an extraterrestrial as Meng, a growing number of people in the world’s most populous nation believe in unidentified flying objects, or UFOs.

Officially registered UFO associations in China have about 50,000 members, but some estimate the actual number of Chinese interested in the subject is probably in the tens of millions.

Angler convinced of UFO sighting

AN unidentified flying object in the sky above Squeaking Point has baffled a Burnie man.
John Walker yesterday said he was now "a believer" unless someone could explain what he saw.

Mr Walker was fishing alone about 10a.m. on Wednesday when he saw a grey bullet-shaped object moving across the sky.

"I don't know what you would call it," he said.

" It was about 100 to 150 feet off the ground, (and) the size of a house.

"I didn't hear a noise.

"It just moved along nice and slow and I probably watched it for 15 minutes, then all of a sudden it disappeared."

Mr Walker said the object had silver spots on it, but no lights.

He said it was a beautiful day, with no wind.

"It definitely wasn't a weather balloon," he said.

"I've seen those before.

"It's out of the ordinary."

Mr Walker said he was usually sceptical about flying saucer theories, but he planned to report his experience to the Tasmanian UFO Investigation Centre.

Centre investigator Keith Roberts yesterday said he had not received any similar reports, but he would like to hear from Mr Walker.

Mr Roberts said the nearby Devonport Airport might have some explanation and checking the area's air traffic movements around the time of the sighting would be a good place to start.

UPDATE - Bill Chalkers New Book

From the comments:
http://www.haloscan.com/comments/ufoligist/111547782915605044/#86383 this comment:

"Paul", Given your characterisations of my forthcoming book "HAIR of the ALIEN" in such terms as a "dead book" etc, and me as a "dunce", etc, etc, I won't burden you with detail, other than to point out that neither the Simon & Schuster site or the Amazon site accurately list the page numbers etc. The book is 328 pages, plus colour photo insert pages & index. For those wanting further details check the URL link supplied. Bill Chalker 05.08.05 - 8:27 pm

Ok?

Well we seem to have an odd change. The so called 224 pages listed at Amazon is not accurate now it's 328... Mmmmmmmmmmmm so I wonder what went on to create such an error?

Bill also reports:

"The reality is that the editors have been a pleasure to work with, professional and thorough. The reality is I was trying to slip in a much longer book than you will see, so the editorial discussion was mostly about shortening. I have been please they have put up with my voluminous endnotes and are going with an index."

"Voluminous", good God - well I be! The track record on this matter is not that great Bill. As I recall lots of "I's' and "me's" in that area. However, its a good SIGN?

Come on Bill, your out by 100 pages? And all the editors I know love books with endnotes and indexes, anything else is called fiction in academia.

"The Simon & schuster web site has posted the cover of my forthcoming book.
The book will have 328 pages plus index and colour photo insert pages." - Bill Chalker

"Missing time in general probably has several causes, ranging allthe way from simple inattention, through highway hypnosis, microsleep/micro rem, the complete kinds of complete disorientationand hallucination reported by night travellers ( the Irish straysod for example), all the way up to dissociative episodes, fuguestates, epileptic and narcopletic attacks and other neurologicalevents, and surely in some cases the pills and the booze, to saynothing of those made up to cover up extra marital affairs (asseems to have been the case in more than one British abduction)."

The Pseudoscience of Intelligent Design

"The Dover, Pennsylvania school board recently adopted a policy requiring that high school science teachers teaching evolution tell their students that evolutionary theory, a theory that has been shown to explain the origins of life time and time again, is flawed, and that intelligent design is a valid alternative. The ACLU, along with the AUSCS (Americans United for the Separation of Church and State), and 11 parents, are suing the school board, accusing the board of violating the separation of church and state. "

READ:
http://www.kuro5hin.org/story/2005/4/27/03541/2520

"To understand the problems with Intelligent Design, first it is important to understand the theory it is attempting to oppose, evolution by natural selection. The theory is this: If organisms reproduce, offspring inherit traits from their progenitor(s), a variability of traits exists, and the environment cannot sustain all the members of an increasingly large population, then those members of the population that have poorly-adapted traits (to their environment) will die out, and those with well-adapted traits (to their environment) will prosper (Darwin 459). Over a long period of time, this process leads to extreme complexity, and adaptedness."

The Next Philosophy

"Science has helped answer some of the fundamental questions of our existence. Yet, as Paul Davies reminds us, we are still a long way from solving perhaps the most intriguing mystery of all: Are we alone in the universe?" by Marianna Krejci-Papa

"Celebrated cosmologist, physicist, and award-winning author Paul Davies has made a career of tackling life’s most profound questions, enticing us over the past three decades to consider the universe in new ways. As a pioneer in the burgeoning field of astrobiology, he continues to push the frontiers of science, questioning the likelihood of the existence of intelligent life beyond the confines of our planet. While modern science has given us impressive means of exploring this possibility— exemplified by the highly sensitive radio telescopes developed by the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI) Institute— Davies sees the search for extraterrestrial life as an extension of the age-old work of theologians and philosophers. Science, like the world’s religions, seeks to plumb the heart of our existence. Yet, as Davies tells Science & Spirit’s Marianna Krejci-Papa, the science we have today may not be enough to answer our biggest questions. Nonetheless, for reasons that reveal much about our nature, we will continue to ask them."

Bigfoot in Idaho

"This photo was taken with a hidden camera at Moyie Springs, Northern Idaho. The owner of property noticed foot tracks some weeks earlier and set camera up in tree along path of tracks. This picture was taken from that camera mounted in the tree. It seems that the Bigfoot took a bite of the red fir tree bark. In the original that I have you can clearly see a piece of bark in the air. I circled the bark in the photo.

This is the only close up photo of Bigfoot that I have ever seen. Very large body and face. The original shows the face and teeth in great detail. Very large mouth and teeth. Not sure of the date. I was told a few years ago. There have been many sighting of Bigfoot in the Northern Idaho area near the Canadian border. Very rugged landscape with many mountains."

Estimate of the Situation 2004

Francis Ridge writes:

"If this is something real, and I for one am sure that part of it is, nothing proves this is going to get released or be easy to find. It is understandable that if this is all as big as it now appears, we only have what somebody wants us to have. We might even find out that forcing it out might be a big mistake. Our desperate need to know may not be justified in this very unstable world we live in. But some of us have peeked through the keyhole and simply walking away just doesn't work. The implications for the human race are just too big. We're not alone." (Last Para)

Meteor Sighting Thrills Astronomers

Apr 26 2005 05:22 PM CDTCBC News

WINNIPEG – Local stargazing experts have been fielding dozens of calls from people who spotted a massive meteor in the daytime sky over western Manitoba on Saturday.

Scott Young of the Manitoba Museum's planetarium says calls are coming in "fast and furious" from people who saw or heard the meteor, which passed over Riding Mountain before exploding high over the St. Ambroise area, north of Portage la Prairie.

"About half the people only heard it because of the sonic boom – the explosion – and people were thinking maybe it's a plane crash or something like that. They ran outside and would see this cloud of smoke that was expanding in the upper atmosphere that was visible for tens of minutes," says Young.

"The people who saw it described it as a flaming baseball or a Roman candle with all sorts of flames and trailing smoke arching across the sky and then detonating in a final explosion. Sounds like a spectacular sight."

Young says this type of spectacle doesn't happen very often.

"We've been trying to find other references to meteors that were bright enough to be seen in the daytime, and there's a handful throughout all recorded history in the Prairies at all. There was one in Manitoba maybe 20 years ago," he says.

"It's a very rare kind of thing. Most of the meteors that we see at night are just little grains of sand, and a really bright one might be the size of a marble. But this was probably the size of a suitcase."

Young hopes more people will contact him to say where they were and what direction they were looking when they saw the space rock hurtling through the sky, so he can pinpoint the exact details of the meteor's path.

"What we need to do is get a bunch of reports, put them all together and that will help us narrow down the search area for looking for pieces," he says. "Almost certainly this event would have produced at least one sizeable chunk of meteorite which would have made it to the ground, and we'd like to find it."

HE DIED BECAUSE OF THE NET?

Childress H. Wanamaker, 54, an account executive at a New York-based new media company, died of starvation according to the West Nyack coroner's office. Wanamaker's emaciated body was found by Loraine, his wife of 26 years, who told MediaPost she had been bringing her husband meals on plastic trays for weeks, but that he never took the time to eat them.

"He was glued to his computer 24/7," she said tearfully. "He was so afraid he was going to miss an opportunity to contribute a comment or start a discussion, that he just stopped eating." She added that Wanamaker's last words were "OK Picard, stick that in your pipe and smoke it..."
